Bringing God and the Law of Consecration into Your Marriage
From the reading from Goddard's book, "Drawing Heaven into Your Marriage," and from Gottman's book, "The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work," was so good this week. In Gottman's book he talked about the 2 marital problems that we have; perpetual and solvable. It doesn't matter which one it is as long as we work with our spouse in a loving and respectful way. You shouldn't ever let your pride guide you, that will only cause more problems. for couples that are having a hard time with one or both of the marital problems there is hope. You can find ways to calm down and be able to communicate with your spouse to find solutions to your answers or to find ways together to deal with the perpetual problems without it boiling over each time they come up. From Goddard's book he talks about having the law of consecration in your marriage. If you are able to do this, it will also help you deal and cope with the perpetual and solvable problems in your marriage as well. If you allow God to be apart of your marriage you will be able to love your spouse more and be able to overcome anything that can comes your way. There won't be any room for criticism or pride if you allow yourself to turn to your spouse with the God's help.
