Marriage is sacred

Marriage is a scared union between a man and a woman and their children. Marriage isn’t just a union of a father and mother. With being married they are able to bear children, which increases the group marriage is over. There is a video with Ryan Anderson talking about how marriage is between a man and a woman with Piers Morgan and Suze Orman. In the video Ryan Anderson gets attacked for believing that children have anything to do with marriage.  As members of the LDS faith we are blessed with the knowledge of “The Family: A Proclamation to the World.” In the Proclamation’s first paragraph it states;

 “WE, THE FIRST PRESIDENCY and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.”

Marriage is to bring children into the world to form families.  A man and woman complement each other so well. There are inherited characteristics in each gender that helps strengthen the other. In my marriage I love that my husband have strengthens where I have weaknesses. It helps us become stronger. My husband offers a part to the marriage and to our family that is irreplaceable, and I love him so much for it.  There are things I would never be able to teach or bring that he does naturally. Wardle, L.D. has said, “"Marriage establishes the moral core of the family and the moral baseline and standards for society in many ways...Without a solid family identity, many persons struggle and some turn to gangs and extremist movements as a substitute for family identity.”

From the reading there were so many times where it says that even though we might not agree with same-sex marriages or relationships we need to still love them and show them kindness.  We all have our agency to choose how to live our lives, and for me I choose to marry a wonderful man and to show respect to all of those around me.  But it is important for us to stand up for what we believe. We can’t just hope people understand our side and that everything will work out. I loved what Ryan Anderson said, "Too many of our neighbors haven’t heard our arguments, and they seem unwilling to respect our rights because they don’t understand what we believe. It’s up to us to change that perception.
